This is advanced professional work providing technical assistance to regional employees who are responsible for conducting investigations involving allegations of child sexual abuse in a licensed foster care setting or other out-of-home placement setting. The duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Conducts a variety of complex, multidisciplinary, systemic reviews on cases involving any critical incidents warranting a specialized review. Reviews and monitors all relevant information related to assigned cases and ensures investigations are handled in a thorough manner with all information being considered.
- Provides technical assistance to regional employees who conduct investigations involving allegations of child sexual abuse in a licensed foster care setting, from on-set of the case through investigative closure.
- Communicates with field staff and their supervisor, Ensure investigative findings are communicated in a clear and concise manner via written reports and/or staffing notes with the respective CIRRT Advisory Team so that appropriate recommendations can be made. Communicate any critical findings immediately to the CIRRT Unit Supervisor and Manager when the need for immediate action is needed. Ensure written summaries/reports (MDT collaborative meetings, Advisory Committee Reports, etc.) are well-written and contain supportive information.
- Assists with the creation and delivery of trainings when needed at the direction of the CIRRT Unit Manager.
- Assists with special projects and/or reviews as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
At least three years of child welfare experience. Specific subject-matter experience (e.g., conducting investigations alleging child sexual abuse; working with, assessing, or providing services to victims and/or perpetrators of child sexual abuse.) Detail oriented with exceptional critical thinking skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel are required; experience in FSFN preferred. Knowledge of federal and state laws and policies regarding child welfare services. Knowledge of best and promising practices regarding child welfare services, with specific emphasis on child sexual abuse case dynamics. Knowledge of all program areas within the department and familiarity with partner programs in the community. Ability to manage multiple assignments at one time. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to coordinate and collaborate with regional investigative staff as well as external providers. Strong communication skills, verbal and written. Ensure that critical activities are being completed during investigations of child sexual abuse alleged to have occurred in a licensed foster home. Experience conducting complex case reviews utilizing a multidisciplinary approach; and child sexual abuse investigations for the CSA team.
