What you will do:
This position provides day-to-day facilities operational support for the Department's Headquarters office. The incumbent completes facility work orders, supports office and event setups, coordinates contracted moving services, reconfigures office furniture and equipment, identifies safety concerns, conducts fingerprint scans, and assists with security camera and card-access systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day facilities operational support.
- Complete work orders and facility support requests in a timely and efficient manner.
- Coordinate and oversee work performed by contracted moving companies.
- Inspect property and grounds for unsafe conditions, clear hazards when appropriate, and report safety concerns, security issues, or illegal activity.
- Set up and break down tables, chairs, equipment, and other items for special events as requested by management.
- Reconfigure, install, position, and remount office furniture and equipment, including wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, and file cabinets, to meet user needs and maximize office space.
- Use hand tools, power tools, specialty tools, dollies, and hand trucks safely while completing assigned work.
- Monitor and maintain Department security cameras and card-access systems and coordinate maintenance and repair services with vendors.
- Operate assigned vehicles and equipment in accordance with safety requirements and report mechanical problems requiring repair.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least one year of experience providing facilities support, moving or installing office furniture and equipment, performing maintenance support, or completing comparable work.
- Experience safely using hand tools, power tools, or material-handling equipment.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability and willingness to work onsite at DCF Headquarters in Tallahassee, Florida. This is not a remote position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience receiving, tracking, and completing facility work orders or service requests.
- Experience installing, repairing, moving, or reconfiguring modular office furniture and related equipment.
- Experience reading blueprints, floor plans, or schematic drawings.
- Experience coordinating or overseeing vendors or contracted work crews.
- Experience conducting safety inspections or identifying and reporting facility hazards.
- Experience supporting security camera or electronic card-access systems.
- Experience working in a government facility or other large office environment.
