Job Description This is a professional Select Exempt Service position located in the Division of Early Learning (DEL) in the Application Services Unit. The incumbent has responsibility as team lead for DEL IT Operations and End User Support Services. The function consists of information resource management, planning and coordination, information system planning, development, implementation, maintenance, and operation of on-line database-oriented computerized information systems, technical support, telecommunications administration and computer operations. The primary duties and responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to the following:

The Florida Department of Education (FDOE) has an open position that is responsible for executing the following functions:

 

This is highly responsible, professional work requiring a substantial degree of independent activity to supervise and coordinate complex administrative programs of the Division of Early Learning.  This position involves administrative, management and supervisory responsibilities.

As a supervisor, the incumbent must communicate with, motivate, provide, or coordinate training, and direct the work of his/her subordinates. In addition, the employee must complete timely performance appraisals, develop timely and accurate work plans, and timely approve monthly attendance and leave for each position under his/her direct report. Timesheets will be completed in the People First system by the 5th business day of the following month. The incumbent has the authority to make hiring recommendations as well as disciplinary recommendations.

 Duties include:

  • Directs the operation and management of Division of Early Learning (DEL) IT application production support.  The function consists of application support, resource management planning, coordination and application technical support.
  • Provides supervision and oversight of production support team.
  • Monitors application help desk and ensures timely responses and resolutions to reported issues.
  • Communicates effectively with IT, DEL, and DEL partners.
  • Directs and coordinates the development of standards and operations relative to DEL application production support.
  • Serves as consultant to DEL staff members regarding application support.
  • Assesses each request for change to determine the risks associated with the change and appropriate actions to be taken to document, advise, eliminate and minimize the risk through meetings, consultations, etc.
  • Perform other duties assigned

LEAVE INFORMATION: SMS/SES

    • Annual Leave - Employees in Senior Management Service and Selected Exempt Service positions are credited with 176 hours of annual leave upon appointment. In subsequent years, the annual allotment is credited on the anniversary date of the initial appointment.
