This position requires travel up to 25%.
Description:
This is managerial and technical work directing the activities of employees and managing the entire Network (LAN,MAN, WAN, VOIP), Commission file server, linkages with State, Federal and other networks, day-to-day operations, on-prem/cloud infrastructure, network security, network backup and disaster recovery and for the Commission using in- house and contracted resources. This position reports to the CIO. The employee in this position exercises independent judgment in formulating or assisting in the formulation of policies and procedures that have significant impact in personnel administration and the preparation and administration of budgets.

Requirements:
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting enterprise network infrastructure and system, or
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course of study in computer sciences, information technology systems, network management or Information technology management and two years of supervisory experience can substitute for the required experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees the Commission' s network operations center, which is a large complex facility utilizing state -of —the-art information processing platforms staffed by computer, communications, network operations, and support personnel.
- Establishes priorities and determines the allocation of available resources.
- Supervises and provides functional direction to Network Administrators who provide continuous monitoring, troubleshooting and first level maintenance of the various networks (LAN, MAN, WAN, VoIP) and workstations across all shifts.
- Plans, coordinates, and monitors system operations to measure and assess effectiveness of existing or modified systems in achieving desired results.
- Formulates policies, procedures and standards relating to area of responsibility and prepares and administers budgets.
- Provides detailed planning and development for new systems and modifications to existing complex systems.
- Coordinates the development and maintenance of comprehensive long- range plans to meet commission network requirements most effectively.
- Works closely with Division, Office and Institute personnel, IT management, DMS, Florida Digital Service, and vendors to assure the availability and compatibility of services.
- Coordinates the review, analysis and definitions of operational systems problems and applies accepted management principles and systems analysis techniques to develop new systems or to improve existing systems.
- Directs the development of technical documentation to ensure effective implementation, operation, backup, and evaluation of automated or manual systems.
- Plans, coordinates, and implements security measures for information systems to regulate access to computer data files and prevent unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure of information. Oversees the Commission' s Information Security Program, serves as a key member of the Commission' s Computer Incident Response Team.
- Plans, implements, and coordinates Network disaster recovery for the Commission.

Responsible for following the provisions and requirements in Section 215.422, Florida Statutes, related to the Department of Financial Services rules and FWC’s invoice processing and warrant distribution procedures.
