The Work You Will Do:

This position is located within the Division of Regulation, Gainesville Regional Office. This position is responsible for investigating alleged violations of Florida Statutes and Board rules governing a variety of professions regulated by the department in the counties of Colombia, Union, Bradford, Gilchrest, Alachua, Putnam, Levy, Marion, Citrus, and Sumter. Pay:

Employees are normally hired at the minimum of the range ($1,257.57 gross biweekly salary).

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • The candidate must be able to communicate clearly and effectively both in verbal and written forms.
  • Possess analytical skills necessary to identify violations of statutes and rules, and identify elements of the alleged violations. 
  • Must be proficient in the use of computers.  Proficient in windows based computer software programs, i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle safely in different driving environments.  
  • Ability to work flexible hours within the regional boundaries and occasional overnight travel within the state of Florida.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

The selected incumbent should possess the following:

  • Bachelors’ degree from an accredited college or university in a regulatory-related field; or
  • Associates’ degree (in any field) & 2 years regulatory-related experience; or
  • Four (4) or more years’ of regulatory-related experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required education; and
  • Investigative experience; and
  • Experience formatting, editing, and creating comprehensive investigative reports using Microsoft Word; and 
  • A valid Florida Driver’s License is required
  • Ability to work flexible hours with regional travel and occasional overnight travel

 

 

Preferences:

Preference will be given to applicants with knowledge of Construction, Cosmetology, Barber, Community Association Management, and Veterinary Medicine Industry.
