Position Overview and Responsibilities:

This position is centered on day-to-day park cleaning, grounds and equipment maintenance and park closing operations within Crystal River Preserve State Park. This position will interact with park visitors and be relied on to provide park protection while closing. Various maintenance duties include restroom and facility cleaning, ground mowing and maintenance, along with various other tasks.

 

This position will work between 15-29 hours a week and does not include health benefits.

 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

KNOWLEDGE IN:

Basic computer skills required to fill in timesheets, read, and compose emails

Microsoft Office programs and basic program troubleshooting

 

SKILL IN:

Providing good customer service

Filling in short reports and communication effectively with internal emails and timesheets

Interest in providing top-notch visitor services through the cleanliness and maintenance of facilities and high-quality visitor contact experiences

Operate various types of lawn maintenance equipment including a zero-turn radius mower, blowers, standard power and manual tools

Basic vehicle maintenance (oil and fluid checks, tire pressure check, etc.)

 

ABILITY TO:

Work late field shift- up to 5 hours prior to sundown, year round

Perform the physical labor required to empty trash receptacles

Follow verbal and written instructions

Communicate effectively verbally and in writing

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others

Provide answers to visitor inquiries in a tactful, efficient and courteous manner

Understand and apply rules, directives, policies, laws, and regulations

Muli-task and prioritize meeting the needs of multiple visitors at any given time

Operate lawn mowers, weed eaters, backpack blowers, and other grounds maintenance equipment as assigned

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Valid Driver’s License

 

 

Position of Special Trust Requirement:

This position is designated as a Position of Special Trust in accordance with DEP Directive 422, Positions of Special Trust or Responsibility. Successful completion of background screening will be required for this position.

 

 

Pay:

$15/hour
