- Preference will be given to applicants with experience as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor and/or training/mentoring Vocational Rehabilitation Staff.

Job Description:
The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Learning and Development Office provides pathways to learning and professional development opportunities for VR staff. This position will include development, coordination and delivery of training materials. This position plays a vital role in the Learning and Development office and promotes the vision and mission of the Division.
The employee must be productive under tight timeframes, balance multiple and competing priorities and maintain goal-directed behavior and performance sometimes under stressful conditions. The employee must interact courteously with others. The employee’s performance and behavior must demonstrate consideration of the workload concerns of others and must not negatively affect productivity and morale of the unit. Attendance is an essential function of this position.
The employee will assist in a significant way with the Learning and Development Office as follows:
- Assists in the planning and development of training and resources for field staff as it relates to the provision of Rehabilitation Counseling Practices, VR Casework Processes and Services.
- Confers with the LDO team in determining training and staff development requirements, needs, priorities, objectives and resources.
- Develops, coordinates, and/or delivers training in a variety of approaches (e.g. virtual, ad-hoc, face-to-face).
- Provides SME support and/or technical assistance on selected segments of the VR casework process and services by coordinating professional training activities and resources for new and existing staff.
- Evaluates information from learners, subject matter experts (SME’s), and other key stakeholders regarding content and effectiveness of training events.
- Able to compile and analyze training related data and information.
- Prepares training reports and responses to surveys and other inquiries, as assigned.
- Collects information on training requirements using interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, case scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis, as assigned.
- Conducts needs analysis and evaluation of training, educational and professional development activities for all VR personnel statewide, as assigned.
- Participates in unit, ad-hoc planning and other related meetings, as assigned.
- Conducts research and curate content regarding appropriate curriculum tracks for VR staff statewide, including consultation with allied agencies, as assigned.
- Conducts presentations at forums and conferences for field staff and other stakeholders.
- Completes reviews and provide feedback of training material submitted by other stakeholders to ensure accuracy, clarity of message, and design meet LDO training material standards.
- Performs other duties as required.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position:
- Programmatic Knowledge of the Rehabilitation Counseling Practices.
- Programmatic Knowledge of the VR Casework Processes.
- Programmatic Knowledge of the VR Employment Services Processes.
- Working knowledge of Vocational Rehabilitation rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including knowledge of correct English grammar, spelling, and usage, to accurately develop, edit and/or update quality training and instruction.
- Demonstrate and use facilitative leadership skills.
- Demonstrate and use effective needs analysis, course development, and evaluation skills.
- Utilize problem-solving techniques.
- Can independently develop entry and advanced level courses.
- Ability to analyze, evaluate, and define large and complex training needs related to business processes and service delivery programs.

- Setting up, operating, and tearing down equipment such as LCD projectors, laptops, & assistive listening devices.
- Setting up rooms (or online rooms) to best facilitate learning and utilize available space.
