SENIOR DENTIST

APD TACACHALE

GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA

 

 

Maintains a dental health program and keeps the staff informed and trained regarding up to date acceptable procedures.

 

Maintains surveillance of quantity and quality of dental procedures being rendered to the patients.

 

Performs examinations and makes diagnoses.

 

Performs periodontal and endocontic procedures and renders consultation responses to physicians regarding dental treatment.

 

Performs oral surgery.

 

Performs emergency dental treatment.

 

 

Monitors infection control procedures and provides up to date dental services infection control policies to the institutions as new procedures or techniques surface.

 

Performs special program/service audits and participates in Health Care Quality Assurance peer reviews activities, when required, and monitors continued integrity of Dental Service Compliance, audit patient/client records and develops methods to achieve compliance.

 

Prepares an annual summary for Individual Support Plans.

 

Attend meetings as required.

 

Performs related work duties as required

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

Ability to use a Dental Lathe.

Knowledge and ability to use computer and software applications.

Knowledge of how to run a dental unit.

Ability to staff

Knowledge of and the ability to use tools utilized during procedures

Knowledge of and ability to use a calculator as it relates to monitoring the reduction of oral disease

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT(S)

 

Active valid Florida Dental License

This position may be required to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency per APD OP 2-0035.    This position is critical to the safety and supervision of residents and may require the incumbent to work beyond their normal work schedule to maintain minimum coverage levels in the facility.
