Requirements:
Employment in this position is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal history check (fingerprint-based) in accordance with Chapter 435, Florida Statutes.

Overview:
This is a 40 hour a week, Monday through Friday seasonal employment position based out of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's (FWC) Suncoast Youth Conservation Center in Apollo Beach. This position will work alongside teammates to provide a safe and educational summer camp experience for youth in grades 3-11.
Expectations include leading youth in activities such as paddle sports (kayaking, paddleboarding, etc.), archery, ethical angling, crafts, exploration activities, etc.
The position is responsible for leading programs, chaperoning off-site field trips, monitoring camper safety, set up/breakdown for programs, lifeguarding, and providing a positive guest experience to campers.
Most camp activities take place outdoors in the heat/elements during summer.

Experience:
- Experience working with youth and/or leading educational programs is preferred.
- Person must be at least 20 years of age at the time of hire.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must be comfortable with working in adverse weather conditions such as heat and rain.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
Additional Requirements:

- Responsible for following the provisions and requirements in Section 215.422, Florida Statutes, related to the Comptroller’s rules and FWC’s invoice processing and warrant distribution procedures.
