This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Circuit 12-2 Arcadia.
The mission of a Senior Criminal Justice Information Technician at the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to oversee and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timely processing of criminal justice information. This role involves supervising and guiding junior technicians, managing complex data entry and retrieval tasks, and ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures. By maintaining high standards of data management and providing leadership within the information services team, Senior Criminal Justice Information Technicians support the effective functioning of the FDC and contribute to public safety and informed decision-making.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
- Analyzes and inputs data from various documents into criminal justice computer systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies.
- Uses judgment to verify and update offender records from sources like court orders and law enforcement records.
- Retrieves and transmits investigative information through various information systems and explains the results to others.
- Answers questions from authorized personnel about criminal justice data and ensures staff follow standards.
- Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information, performs routine office equipment maintenance, and completes other assigned tasks.
