MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A high school diploma or its equivalent.
Possession of a valid Driver License.

Successful candidates must report to the office headquarters located at 3397 US Hwy 27 S, Avon Park, FL 33825, at the beginning and end of each workday.
JOB DUTIES:
- Surveying commercial citrus properties for expressed symptoms of citrus diseases. This includes traveling to remote survey areas, walking or riding all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) throughout survey areas looking for host plants and identifying diseased plants. Collecting and submitting samples according to the program sample collecting procedures. Recording and reporting survey data using established protocols.
- Cooperating as a team player in the daily functions of their assigned crew and field station. This includes accurately completing time and attendance reports, vehicle maintenance reports, survey reports and the daily cleaning of vehicle and ATV.
- Other related duties as directed by supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of Department decontamination procedures.
- Ability to recognize citrus varieties and other known hosts of citrus diseases.
- Ability to interact with the public and team members in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ability to read and draw basic maps and to locate properties using street and geographic maps.
- Ability to operate a computer to access and retrieve electronic information.
- Ability to lift and transport 25 lbs. and bend repetitiously.
- Ability to work outdoors in hot, cold, and humid environments.
- Ability to walk on uneven ground and in inclement weather.
