CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  1. New employees of the Department of Military Affairs will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  2. New employees of the Department of Military Affairs are required to participate in a direct deposit/electronic transfer program. 
  3. The Department of Military Affairs is paid on a monthly basis.
  4. This position is a Cooperative Agreement position.
  5. As a CANDIDATE, you are required to provide documentation (i.e. High School Diploma or Equivalency, College Transcripts, ETC.) to verify meeting these Minimum Qualifications.
  6. Must have a Valid Driver’s License.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • A high school diploma and four (4) years of experience in Facilities and Maintenance Management; OR
  • An Associate's Degree from an accredited University or College in Construction Management, Facilities Management, or related management fields and two (2) years of experience in Facilities and Maintenance Management.

 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University or College in Construction Management, Facilities Management, or related management fields.
  • Experience in performing Facility inspections and writing reports.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide Assistance to the Armory / Facility Managers
  • Assist in developing Scope of Work (SOW) – Level I & II Procurement (up to $65,000.00)
  • Assist in obtaining quotes – Level I & II Procurement (up to $65,000.00)
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) assistant
  • Identifies and maintains log of responsive vendors within the Region
  • Reviews proposal for accuracy and cost– Level I & II Procurement (up to $65,000.00)
  • Inspect completed work– Level I & II Procurement (up to $65,000.00)
  • Assist with Warranties – Scheduled required inspections and enforcement
  • Perform Facility Inspections
  • Conduct Quarterly Facility Inspections with Armory / Facility Managers
  • Develop and Provide Quarterly Reports for Required Preventative Maintenance; Routine, Maintenance; Routine Repairs
  • Provide Construction and Facilities Management Office (CFMO) Operational Support 
  • Conduct ISR–Infra Structure and BUILDERS Sustainment Management System assessments
  • Perform Field Inspections for Project Managers
  • Support the Electronic Security System (ESS) branch – Intrusion Detection System (IDS) only
  • Promote the Safety Program
  • Promote the Energy Conservation Awareness Program
  • Make field observations and submits reports to the Facility Management Branch Chief.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: 

  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings, or other structures such as highways and roads.
  • Knowledge of the terminology, principles of Facility Management.
  • Knowledge of data collection and analysis principles and procedures.
  • Knowledge of collecting, evaluating, analyzing, and interpreting technical data.
  • Knowledge of how to find information and identifying essential information.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes involved in business and organizational planning, coordination, and execution. This may include strategic planning, resource allocation, manpower modeling, leadership techniques, and production methods.
  • Skilled in preparing technical reports.
  • Skilled in utilizing a personal computer.
  • Skilled in communicating effectively with others in writing as indicated by the needs of the audience.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to Facility Management programs.
  • Ability to understand and follow legislative policy direction as established in Florida statutes.
  • Ability to deal with the public in a tactful and courteous manner.
  • Ability to developing approaches for implementing an idea.
