WHAT IS OPS EMPLOYMENT?  

Other Personal Services (OPS) is a temporary employer/employee relationship used solely for accomplishing short term or intermittent tasks. OPS employees do not fill established positions and may not be assigned the duties of any vacant authorized position.  OPS employees are at-will employees and are subject to actions such as pay changes, changes to work assignments and terminations at the pleasure of the agency head or designee.

 

The Work You Will Do:

OPS Accountant III / Transportation Support / Financial Services

 

This temporary position will perform professional accounting work that requires auditing, accounting, and computer skills for processing invoices for payment. The main responsibilities include auditing both contracts and non-contract invoices, as well as performing essential vouchering functions. This position is vital to ensure that we fulfill the agency's mission.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Audit payment documents including utility invoice transmittals, purchasing card transactions, travel, individual reimbursement vouchers, Consultant Invoice Transmittals (CITs) and Ariba on Demand (AOD) for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Florida Statutes, Florida Administrative Code, directives, policies, procedures, and generally accepted accounting principles.

 

Audit electronic contract invoices and review new contracts for mathematical accuracy, and compliance with Florida Statutes, and Department of Financial Services and Department of Transportation policies and procedures.

 

Research and resolve payment inquiries from vendors and employees; effectively communicate results to requestors by email as well as by telephone; identify recurring issues and report statistical results to management.

 

Reconcile the Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR) payment voucher schedules to the pending vendor invoices.  Identify the sampled vouchers required for auditing by the Department of Financial Services (DFS) and prepare voucher schedules and supporting documentation for submission to DFS.

 

Process all standard and electronic mail for Financial Services, which includes date stamping of all invoices and other documents received. Analyze payment documents to determine transaction date as defined by Section 215.422 F.S.  Sort invoices in accordance with office requirements and stage them in the unpaid invoice file
