ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires the completion of FDA’s Produce Inspections for Regulators training, On-Farm Readiness Review training and Produce Safety Alliance (PSA) grower training within first 6 months of employment.
Frequent travel required.
This position has regulatory responsibilities and is subject to the provisions of s. 112.313, F.S., and Section 60L-36.003, Florida Career Service Rules and Regulations.
Some alternate work hours and/or overtime may be required to accomplish inspection duties and responsibilities.

JOB DUTIES:
Perform Produce safety Rule (PSR) inspections as required by the Food and Drug Administration’s Food Safety Modernization Act. Properly handle investigations by working with applicable regulatory partners.
Assist with managing an inventory of farms in the state of Florida. Utilize established software for entering the farm data. Maintain integrity of data within the database by auditing inspection and farm records via record verification and duplicate removal. Serve as an administrator of the farm inventory database and provide training and support to end users.
Conduct On-Farm Readiness Reviews as requested by the industry to assist growers in achieving compliance with PSR requirements.
Assist the University of Florida/Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) Extension office with conducting industry training classes required by the PSR throughout the state of Florida. Serve as a member of the UF/IFAS training team to provide support in answering regulatory questions and providing guidance to the industry as needed. Respond to inquiries or questions from the industry related to the PSR within 24 hours.
Assist with the creation of Standard Operating Procedures of assigned area.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Ability to lift, maneuver and carry up to 50 pounds, when needed, as part of the duties of the position.
