Position Overview and Responsibilities:

Compliance with the processing requirements of Chapter 215.422, F.S. is mandatory. Persistent failure to comply with this section by any agency of the state shall constitute good cause for discharge of employees duly found responsible, or predominantly responsible, for failure to comply.

 

This position’s primary function is to provide excellent customer service as the first point of contact in the Florida State Parks.  

 

Responsible for greeting customers at the park entrance station and visitor center, providing information pertaining to the park and surrounding areas.  Inform visitors of the park features as well as any current and upcoming park activities and events.  Interpret rules, answer questions and provide interpretive/educational information to visitors.  Collect fees for park entrance and annual permits.  Monitor and answer park radios.

 

Coordinate, develop and assist in the operation of revenue generating activities.  Operate point of sale system, accurately collect, record, and reconcile revenue collected using individual worksheet.  Completes visitor attendance and inventories ticket supply.  Responsible for completion of incident reports and implementing emergency program procedures.  Answers telephone and distributes phone messages.

 

Performs maintenance of the exterior and interior of the entrance station including washing windows, dusting furniture, cleaning floors, servicing restrooms and sweeping area.

 

Performs related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver’s License

 

 

Position of Special Trust Requirement:

This position is designated as a Position of Special Trust in accordance with DEP Directive 422, Positions of Special Trust or Responsibility. Successful completion of background screening will be required for this position.

 

 

Pay:

$17.00 per hour
