The Work You Will Do:

HQ Infrastructure Specialist – Administration- TPK Support Services-Building Maintenance

 

This position will perform comprehensive maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of building systems and equipment at the Boca SunPass Center. This role involves hands-on work with HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical components, elevators, generators, UPS systems, life safety systems, and general building infrastructure.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Perform hands-on building maintenance services of the Boca SunPass Center such as and not limited to: maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing of a variety large and complex building heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC), roofing, plumbing, elevators, generators, uninterrupted power supply system (UPS) and other mechanical and electrical building components and grounds, lighting, building management controls, life safety systems and equipment, doors and door hardware, wall repairs and painting, irrigation pump system, domestic water pumps; piping and fixtures. Oversee work that may be performed by outside contractors and vendors, ensuring work is being done in a safe manner and according to the Department’s standards and contract specifications.

 

Perform a variety of technical and non-technical trade-skilled work, which includes, and is not limited to, repairing/remodeling/altering/constructing and maintaining hard-walled and modular offices, bathroom fixtures, common building areas, and outside grounds. Additional work that will be expected to carry out includes, and is to: Carpentry installing/repairing/replacing/maintaining/inspecting building walls, drywalling, installing doors/door frames/door hardware, installing and modifying modular furniture).not limited to Electrical (installing/repairing/replacing/maintaining/inspecting light fixtures, bulbs, ballasts, wall switches, wall outlets, low voltage wiring, and outlets). Plumbing installing/repairing/replacing/maintaining/inspecting pumps, pressure gages, water meters; clearing blocked water and wastewater lines, replacing water filters, hot water heaters). Life safety (maintain/inspect/report status of fire hydrants, stand pipes, fire extinguishers, fire sprinklers, first aid/AED equipment, fire pumps, fire alarm systems, pre-action systems, FM suppression equipment, other). General maintenance (pressure cleaning, painting interior and exterior walls and floors, ceiling tile replacement, floor tile replacement, installation of office wall fixtures and equipment, move boxes, hang pictures, assist with office relocations, and other as needed). Read and interpret building systems and equipment infrastructure specifications, schematics, and as-built plans.

 

Create, coordinate, prioritize, schedule, and complete all work order requests promptly. Upon completion of work, ensure the customer's needs are met in a professional, timely, and satisfactory manner. Prioritize work, work schedules, and coordinate with other team members and contractors on pending and completed work orders and work projects. Create work orders based on visual observation of deficiencies and inspection findings.

 

Oversee and inspect all outsourced services, repairs, replacements, and maintenance performed by contractors. Ensure work being performed complies with the Department’s service agreements, safety standards, policies, and work regulations of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), local city, county, and state codes, along with industry standards. Identify and report all service deficiencies that need correction promptly. Immediately stop all unsafe work from being performed, making sure the work environment and the work being performed is safe.

 

Respond to after-hours emergency calls as-needed basis. Night and/or weekend work will be required based on project schedules.

 

Responsible for maintaining all mechanical and equipment rooms in a neat, clean, and organized manner at all times. Maintain an accurate inventory of all maintenance equipment, tools, and supplies. Responsible for making purchases of supplies and services, when necessary, by utilizing an agency-issued credit card. Ensuring all goods and/or services are received and all credit card transactions are properly processed promptly.

 

The Successful Candidate will have the following required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

Knowledge of:

  • performing various skilled trade work such as plumbing, air conditioning, electrical, carpentry, general building maintenance, painting, etc.
  • using a building management system (BMS)
  • maintenance safety procedures for performing building maintenance type work, such as lock-out-tag-out, use of personal protection equipment and use of power tools.
  •  

Skills in:

  • using hand tools & power tools.
  • attention to detail quality assurance reviewing work for accuracy and quality
  • working in electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, etc.
  •  

Ability to:

  • read floor plans and as-built drawings
  • establish and maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers, customers and contractors
  • install, maintain and repair light bulbs, light fixtures, light ballasts with 277 volts
  • perform various plumbing repairs
  • schedule and prioritize work and responsibilities

  • climb and utilize a ladder
  • lift up to 50 pounds.

 

Other Job-Related Requirements:

Due to the nature of this position the incumbent must respond to emergencies during and after normal work hours.
