The incumbent is part of a global public health organization and is expected to support the Florida Department of Health in Manatee County in its mission to protect, promote, and improve the health of all people in Florida through integrated state, county, and community efforts and its vision to be the Healthiest State in the Nation. We are seeking a passionate public health professional to join our Community Health Division who enthusiastically embodies our organization's mission, vision, and values.
Your Specific Responsibilities:
This supervisory role in the Community Health Division will be responsible for overseeing the Tobacco Prevention and Control Program, the Healthy Communities of Florida program, and various special projects to ensure alignment with public health initiatives. The Supervisor will manage and oversee program staff, including full-time employees, interns, and short-term project personnel. This role involves ensuring effective training, coaching, and mentoring for all team members while driving the timely achievement of program goals and objectives. The position will also serve as the Community Health Division Delegate in the absence of the Division Director, lead quality improvement projects, and contribute to the Performance Management Council. The Supervisor will report directly to the Division Director and will oversee the planning, coordination, and prioritization of work to ensure all deliverables are met.
This position requires occasional travel and some weekend and evening hours. Position activities may occur before, during, and after regular working hours or on weekends or holidays. This position is not limited to these job responsibilities as it serves as a guideline with the understanding that job responsibilities may be added, revised, or removed as needed.

- Proficiency in data management and analysis

Qualifications include:
- A minimum of two to three years of experience leading and implementing public health programs with a demonstrated ability to drive outcomes and improve health initiatives.
- At least two to three years of experience managing and developing staff, including mentoring, coaching, and providing training to enhance team performance.
- Proven track record of successfully collaborating with high-level partners to achieve shared goals and advance program objectives.
Preferred:
Master’s degree in a relevant field.
