Duties and Responsibilities

As the Business Consultant I, you will play a critical role in ensuring that we are able to fulfill this role by managing business operations for the assigned regions or operational areas.  This work will include serving as the first point of contact for any operational issues that need to be addressed and working with the Program Manager and Regional Administrators to provide solutions; monitoring, coordinating and providing guidance for staffing, training, and other personnel actions and concerns; and monitoring, coordinating and providing guidance for procurement, budget and other fiscal actions and concerns.

  • Ability to understand, interpret and apply a comprehensive knowledge of personnel, purchasing and other Department laws, agency policies and procedures, and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants who have professional work experience:

  • Researching and applying rules, regulations, policies or procedures; particularly those related to personnel, procurement and/or government agencies.
  • Analyzing data and preparing reports.
  • Evaluating documents or other information for accuracy and compliance.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint, as well as MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP).

 

General Information

  • The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
  • Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI.  Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.
