The employee in this position performs maintenance assignments at Manatee County Health Department and is expected to utilize manual skills involving the exercise of physical strength and the ability to perform duties and moving/lifting of equipment, supplies, furniture, and waste. Work is performed under the direction of OPERATIONS MANAGER C-SES.
Routine Maintenance and Repairs:
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other equipment.
- Perform repairs on machinery, equipment, and systems as needed.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with equipment and systems, and recommend appropriate repairs or replacements.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner, following established procedures and protocols.
After-Hours Burglar Alarm Response:
- Respond promptly and appropriately to after-hours burglar alarm activations.
- Conduct a thorough investigation of the premises to determine the cause of the alarm activation.
- Coordinate with security personnel or law enforcement, if necessary, to address any potential security threats or breaches.
- Document and report any findings or incidents related to burglar alarms.
Refrigerator Alarm Response:
- Respond promptly to refrigerator alarms to prevent spoilage of perishable goods.
- Identify the cause of the alarm, such as power outage, temperature fluctuations, or equipment malfunction.
- Take appropriate actions to resolve the issue, such as resetting the alarm, adjusting temperature settings, or arranging for repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of refrigerator alarm incidents and actions taken.
General Maintenance:
- Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify maintenance needs.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment and systems are in good working condition.
- Monitor inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment and request replenishment as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance tools and work areas.
Monitors Net Facilities work order system for daily assignments, and special projects. Assist with special projects such as chair set-up for a meeting, relocation of office furniture and supplies. Daily courier duties delivering packages and supply to proper location. Drives the mobile units and helps with outreach setups/breakdowns
Maintains logs of non-technological inventory items in compliance with DOHP 250-11 to assist Manatee County staff in yearly invent, ensuring items are account d, ed for, and requests new asset ID tags from the Clerk of the Court when new inventory items are purchased. Responsible for proper disposition and reporting of property according to County\State guidelines.
Develops and maintains critical logs, including keys and access cards for the three buildings adding, tracking, and revoking access to the buildings when staff changes ensuring all keys are working, and coordinates with Manatee County Facilities improvements, repairs, and maintenance projects needed by Department of Health in Manatee.
Facilities Maintenance:
Coordinates maintenance through NET FACILITIES for the three buildings occupied by the Department of Health in Manatee to include: semi-annual floor maintenance, extermination, building repairs, and plumbing repairs, all according to contract requirements with Manatee County.
Ensures all Department of Health in Manatee facilities comply with OHSA regulations, including providing labeled safety and cleaning supplies are available, maintaining a current log of all required material safety documentation, and ensuring the inventory level of supplies necessary to maintain the Department of Health in Manatee facilities are ordered and in stock. Prepare purchase requisitions using the My Florida Market Place (MFMP) purchasing system.
Submit county work orders for repairs.
Perform other related duties as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
