Your Specific Responsibilities:

 

Description:

The employee will perform the duties of billing, scheduling appointments, and registering clients by means of HMS/Dental Software program. Greets and receives the clients, interviewing to determine eligibility status, answering the phones, making charts, filing charts & maintaining a filing and recall system. Pulling patient records 1-2 days in advance to prepare for upcoming appointments, calls to remind patients of appointments 1-2 days in advance. Check Medicaid eligibility status in FLMMIS 1-2 days in advance. Assist in the completion of telephone and mail correspondence. Completes Records Requests, Obtains and completes process for legal paperwork/approvals. Enters fiscal data within the prescribed timeframes set by state and local policies and procedures. Maintain proficiency with procedures and diagnosis codes, coordinating with providers to correct errors. Scans in original documents in the HMS/Eaglesoft for EOHR.

 

Ensures that accurate, up-to-date data for demographic, insurance and financial information is entered into HMS/Eagle Soft. Inputs EARS within required time frame. Produces superbills to the Fiscal Office daily.  Submits time sheets, EARS, and prepares own travel vouchers. Complies with all Department of Health and Dental security and confidentiality rules and requirements.

 

Maintains proficiency with software applications/programs and other office equipment commonly used by the department (i.e., HMS, FMMIS, Outlook, Word, Excel, copier, shredder, fax, label maker, printer, etc.).  May be required to order supplies using the agency purchasing system. Serves as Information Custodian for the dental clinic for assigned information sets, maintaining confidentiality for the information in accordance with state and federal statutes, rules, regulations and DOH Security Policies, Protocols and Procedures.

 

Provides other support as requested or assigned by the dental manager in the unit, including guidance and assistance to all staff and the dental clients to promote the department’s goals and objectives. In the event of a disaster, report for duty during and/or after the disaster, as directed.

 

 

 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

Ability to prepae and maintain charts and reports, Skills in Computer software application (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc), Knowledge of general office procedures and practices.

 

Qualifications:

 

Minimum -

Must have at least 2 years of computer experience

Must have at least 2 years experience working in a fast-paced customer service position

Must have at least  2 years experience working a a medical or dental setting

Must have experience working with multi-line phones in an office setting

 

Preferred - 

Skilled at data entry. Detail-oriented.
