Your Specific Responsibilities:
This position requires a high degree of independent initiative and judgment maintaining the Special Needs Registry and its clients list while also assisting with the development and maintenance of the Medical Reserve Corps of Sumter County and its volunteers. The incumbent will provide technical, administrative, direct services, community outreach and networking, and supporting a robust Medical Reserve Corps that responds/participates during disasters, shelter activation, mass immunizations, or other Health Department initiatives or requests.
Specifically, the incumbent shall provide and/or oversee the implementation of:
- Maintenance of the Special Needs Registry for Sumter County clients, ensuring the required medical qualifications are met.
- Maintenance of the volunteer call list to ensure it is up to date with all current information.
- Providing each month’s update to both the local and National MRC websites as well as a summary of these updates in the monthly activity report.
- Participation in monthly conference calls. Attend other related conference calls and in-person meetings when required.
- Providing ongoing training for MRC Volunteers.
- Assurance that credentials are received for each licensed volunteer and continued training verification is included in each volunteer's record, on an ongoing basis.
- Ensuring MRC Staffing Plans include the following: Recruiting Plan, Training Plan, Credentialing Plan and Retention Plan.
- Maintenance of job or duty descriptions of MRC volunteers.
- Maintenance of an MRC Action Plan as a component of Emergency Preparedness.
- Submission of quarterly Action Plans and Budget Reports.
- Development and distribution of a Quarterly MRC Newsletter.
- Operation of computerized programs and systems to modify and retrieve sensitive information.
- Accomplishment of a wide variety of duties by working independently.
- Effective and professional communication, with fellow employees and the public, in person, electronically, and/or by telephone.

Qualifications:
Minimum - Associate's degree
Preferred -Medical background experience highly preferred
