CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  1. New employees of the Department of Military Affairs will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  2. New employees of the Department of Military Affairs are required to participate in a direct deposit/electronic transfer program. 
  3. The Department of Military Affairs is paid on a monthly basis.
  4. As a CANDIDATE, you are required to provide documentation (i.e. High School Diploma or Equivalency, College Transcripts, ETC.) to verify meeting these Minimum Qualifications.
  5. Must have a valid Driver’s License.

 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.

 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Keep buildings in clean and orderly condition. Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish.
  • Perform routine maintenance activities; notify management of need for repairs, and cleaning debris from sidewalk.
  • Ensure facilities and equipment are being maintained and in operational condition
  • Make beds and ensure bathrooms are clean.
  • Collect dirty towels, linens, and replace them as needed; Wash and fold linens.
  • Clean and adjust furniture and appliances when necessary.
  • Sweep, mop, scrub floors, carpet, porches and sidewalks
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, kitchens and common areas to include equipment
  • Remove trash from restrooms, billets, kitchen and common areas.
  • Clean inside and outside billets to include windows, porches, picnic tables/furniture
  • Ensures billets are stocked with required supplies and keeps areas and vehicles stocked and organized
  • Follows all safety and sanitation policies
  • Maintain inventory of necessary supplies
  • Performs additional duties as needed.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: 

  • Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to safely work with manual, electrical powered cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions for hazardous materials/chemicals.
  • Ability to distribute and monitor the use of supplies and materials.
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment to include; vacuum cleaners, high and low speed buffers and carpet cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to clean and sanitize, according to procedure.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments in a timely manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with co-workers and customers.
  • Ability to utilize carpet cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to report to work on time and ready to work.
  • Ability to ensure compliance with OSHA, Environmental and Safety Guidelines.
  • Knowledge of proper waste disposal.
