Office of Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel, Fifth District, Casselberry

Our Organization and Mission:

The Office of Regional Counsel, Fifth Region (RC5) was created by the Legislature in 2007, pursuant to Section 27.511, Fla. Stat., to provide legal representation to indigent individuals in over 20 different areas of law.  RC5 serves 4 judicial circuits and 13 counties, including St. John’s and Putman Counties.

Legal Assistant – RC5 is seeking a full-time legal assistant in Seminole County, Casselberry, Florida.  The position involves administrative, organizational, and clerical support to attorneys in a state agency.  Scheduling depositions, mediations, and court hearings. Track filing deadlines and monitor important dates. Answer phone calls, respond to emails, relay messages between clients and attorneys. Maintain and organize physical and electronic case files and client records using database software. Draft, format and proofread basic legal documents, correspondence, pleadings and motions using templates.  File legal paperwork with state and federal courts, including managing e-filing systems.  To apply, please send a resume, and cover letter by email to Candi Powell: cpowell@rc5state.com.

Starting Salary – $45,000.00- $49,000.00 depending on experience.
