Your Specific Responsibilities:

The position is responsible for meeting customer satisfaction and placement goals.  Staff is focused on placement services by using Employ Florida (EF), job boards, and community resources.  The position is responsible for prioritizing work demands with a focus on customer satisfaction by ensuring quality job referrals are made based on employer defined skill sets and requirements.  The position also ensures that all services provided are adequately documented in the State database, alerts job seekers to customer satisfaction surveys, and inform job seekers of all CareerSource Escarosa services. All work is done to ensure CareerSource Escarosa goals are met and that customer satisfaction has been earned. 

 

Receives immediate supervision from J & B Administrator.  Works as directed providing services with the goals of Resource Specialist and customer satisfaction.  

  • Manage job seeker expectations. Explain and emphasize “Customer Satisfaction” philosophy by having customer complete a CareerSource Escarosa survey.
  • Coordinates the provision of labor exchange services to eligible persons including intake and assessment, counseling, testing, job search assistance, referral and placement.
  • Assess the needs of customers to determine the eligibility of applicants and refer to services such as HOPE FL, Supplemental Nutritional Assistant Program, Welfare Transition Program, Ticket to Work, WIOA, Veteran Services, or other programs or resources that may be available, etc.
  • Ensure full compliance with state, federal or local policy of entering staff assisted services codes and documentation recorded in EF are in full compliance with Florida Commerce & Career Source Florida guidelines.
  • Identifies and make recommendations to immediate supervisor actions and services needed to maintain compliance with established regulations, directives and procedures.
  • Conducts self-evaluation and participates in shared evaluations for the purpose of professional development.
  • Upon request, assists in the acquisition of prosthetic and sensory aids and services needed to enhance the employability of eligible persons.
  • Ensures that customers use computers and equipment for their intended purpose and redirect customers who are using resources inappropriately.
  • Assist customers in completing their profiles, including building or uploading a resume in Employ Florida and adding relevant work history, education, etc. so that they can easily be matched to existing job orders based on their knowledge, training, skills, and abilities. Assist customers in completing or entering information in the CONNECT system for Re-Employment claims and the Access Florida site for benefits, including providing contact information for those who experience difficulties with the State’s system.
  • Administer tests/assessments such as typing tests, skills assessments, TABE and others as required or requested by employers.
  • Review resumes, make suggestions and assist with edits as needed. Refer and facilitate scheduling of customers for workshops, classes, career counselors, etc.
  • Reach out to new Employ Florida registrants and encourage them to take advantage of all of CareerSource Escarosa resources.
  • Handles customer concerns and difficult customers in a professional manner.
  • Maintains neat and orderly, professional work area(s).
  • Participate in all aspects of teamwork, and as a willing partner in not only the specific team, but in the organization. All team members are expected to have a working knowledge of the CareerSource services offered to customers and should be prepared to provide back-up coverage in other areas during peak periods, or when staffing shortages arise due to lunch hours, vacations, or illness. Internally monitor program functions through peer reviews.
  • Work throughout CareerSource Escarosa’s One-Stops as needed/scheduled.
  • Maintain strict rules of confidentiality.

 

Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

  • Incumbents are required to travel locally and must furnish own transportation.
  • Respond to and Resolve Customer Complaints
  • Follow the Standard Operating Procedure for Customer Complaint Resolution System.
  • Update and Maintain the State Complaint Log. 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: At least 2 years’ experience in counseling, human services, human resources, customer service, computer support or a related area is required.
  • Skills/Abilities: Ability to provide outstanding, positive, and professional customer service.  A high level of proficiency in computer applications is required including, but not limited to, Microsoft office, email applications. Keyboarding/typing skills of 40 words per minute (test will be administered). Proficiency in internet applications; ability to navigate and comprehend a variety of employment related websites.   Experience with the EFM website is a plus.  Ability to learn new technologies as they are introduced.
  • Interpersonal skills; energetic personality, positive attitude and a high level of commitment to helping and serving people. Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment.

Qualifications:

As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records. 

Minimum:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. 
  • Experience: At least 2 years' experience in counseling, human services, human resources, customer service, computer support or a related area is required. 
  • Incumbents are required to travel locally and must furnish their own transportation.
  • Must become certified as a Workforce Development Professional (Tier 1) within 12 months of appointment to this position. 
  • Travel within Santa Rosa and Escambia Counties is required, as well as occasional overnight travel to areas outside the two-county area. A valid Florida driver’s license and access to a reliable, insured motor vehicle is required.
  • Must obtain Florida Ready to Work Soft Skill & Digital Skills Certification
