Working Title: BEHAVIORAL ANALYST - F/C - 60046377

Position Number: 60046377

Salary:  $30,622.02

Posting Closing Date: 01/11/2018

Florida State Hospital in Chattahoochee anticipates two vacancies and seeks persons with recent PsyD or PhD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology (from APA-accredited doctoral programs) to provide psychological services in the facility's forensic units.  These units serve adult men and women inpatients with felony charges and legal commitments as Incompetent to Proceed or Not Guilty By Reason of Insanity, who are diagnosed with a wide range of mental disorders including schizophrenia spectrum disorders, mood disorders, and personality disorders.

The incumbents will report directly to a licensed Psychologist, and will be assigned to a forensic work unit based on clinical training and strengths to perform a range of assessment, treatment, and forensic evaluation tasks.

If the person is undergoing supervised practice hours for the purpose of meeting state licensure criteria, the working job title will be "Psychology Resident" even though the state job title is Behavioral Analyst.

Strong preference will be given to applicants with recently attained doctorates (including successful completion of an internship) who meet full qualifications under Florida Statute 490 for licensure in Florida as a Psychologist and who intend to apply for licensure within fifteen months of starting the position.  Applicants are expected to familiarize themselves with the requirements for licensure as a Psychologist in Florida, which are publicly available, and address their suitability and intentions within the Cover Letter.

This facility provides services under a Recovery model utilizing multidisciplinary treatment teams, including psychology staff.

Applications from widely diverse individuals are welcome and encouraged, particularly those who are bilingual (ASL).

Applicants are expected to provide a CV, in addition to a succinct, focused, cover letter and the State of Florida application. The CV and cover letter should speak to their interest in, and preparation for, providing psychological services to a complex clinical adult population in a secure mental health facility.  This letter should address training and experience with forensic specific assessments such as evaluations of competency to proceed/stand trial and use of the TOMM, SIRS, M-FAST and other forensic specific assessments. It should also address whether the applicants' doctoral training meets qualifications to apply for licensure as in Florida as a Psychologist.
