What you will do:
This position is responsible for providing administrative assistance and support to the General Counsel’s Office Attorney at Florida State Hospital. This includes performing a wide variety of legal and administrative functions, with minimal supervision, such as gathering data, preparing written reports, legal documents and correspondence and providing guidance and assistance to staff. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Relieve the Attorney of routine administrative and/or clerical functions by independently providing administrative assistance and support by preparing legal pleadings, memoranda, reports and other documents. Screen, analyze and respond to inquiries not requiring the attention of an Attorney. Research, develop, and prepare material for reports for review/information needed by the Attorney.
- Track and follow-up on assignments that require administrative and/or legal actions to ensure deadlines are met.
- Maintain calendar for the Hospital Attorney; schedule meetings, hearings, and depositions, communicate with participants/witnesses and provide pertinent background information as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
