This is professional work supervising and directing employees. The primary duty of the incumbent in this position is to spend the majority of their time communicating with, motivating, training and evaluating employees, planning and directing their work; and having the authority to effectively recommend actions such as: hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, promote, discharge, assign, and reward or discipline direct reports. Evaluates employees against established standards and takes appropriate actions when necessary (i.e. recognition, reward, corrective action, etc.).
Prepares Performance Evaluations, counsels and reviews Performance Evaluations. Recommends hiring, discharge, promotion, and discipline. Manages time and leave requests.
Supervises the daily activities of the staff to ensure prompt delivery of food carts and beverage containers to units according to schedule, ensuring the quality of the delivered product.
Supervises the pick up of food carts from units after each meal ensuring they are delivered to the dishroom for cleaning.
Ensures the loading docks, areas around loading docks, food carts and utility carts are thoroughly cleaned on a daily basis. Also ensure the food trucks are cleaned and sanitized after each meal.
Supervise the performance of light duty maintenance on the food service trucks to ensure there is adequate water, oil and gas. Contacts the Transportation Department for necessary repair work.
On occasion and as needed, drives one and one-half ton truck deliverying food items.
While on duty, follows and carries out Florida State Hospital Unit/Department safety practices and policies.
Performs other related duties as assigned
