This position will assist will coordinating the aviation activities and programs for the District.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Assist with coordinating the aviation activities and programs for the District. This includes working with local governmental agencies in developing and implementing aviation projects. Reviewing aviation projects for eligibility and inclusion in the Department's Five (5) Year Work Program. Coordination with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Assisting with the development and processing of Public Transportation Grant Agreement (PTGA) contracts with local governments; the writing and/or compiling of agreements, encumbering funds; and ensuring that contracts are executed.

Reviews and approves invoices from PTGAs to ensure compliance with the contract, review backup documentation and ensure that they are accurate. Assist with the preparation of invoice transmittal documents for timely submittal to the District Financial Services Office for payment.

 

Assist with airport project site visits to review quality of construction; review of airport master plans and airport layout plans; review of technical drawings and other reviews. Maintaining and updating the Florida Aviation Database (FAD).

Travels to and participates in conferences, organizing inter-agency meetings, project reviews, and pre-construction meetings, task groups, and teleconferences. Participates in field surveys relating to the Department’s Annual Railroad Crossing Diagnostic Review and evaluate the results to aid in determining critical crossing projects for priority programming.

Supports the monitoring and managing of the Transit Capital Improvement Program (TranCIP) for the District. Help manage the transit database to include all submittal entries and revisions to track projects in the Transit Work Program. Assists in reviewing and provides guidance on Transit Plans, Transit Development Plans (TDP), Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Reports (DBE), and Drug/Alcohol Reports.

Provides support for Aviation, Transit, Rail, Seaport, and Freight including but not limited to coordination, documentation, and communication of related activities. 

Performs other duties as assigned.

 

The Successful Candidate will have the following required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

Knowledge of:

  • Knowledge of the Florida Department of Transportation (DOT) Work Program
  • Knowledge of Strategic Intermodal System (SIS)

Skills in:

  • Skilled in verbal and written communication
  • Skilled in providing customer service with both internal and external partners

Ability to:

  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to review data for accuracy and completeness
  • Ability to conduct meetings and make presentations
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, coordinate, and track multiple assignments

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four years of professional experience or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
