 Your Specific Responsibilities:

This position is a highly responsible position charged with implementation of various youth focused interventions for several programs. The incumbent of this position should be comfortable working with youth as well as engaging with community partners and stakeholders. This position requires a high energy individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The incumbent will independently prepare and facilitate STOP SV education and promoting activities utilizing identified strategies including, but not limited to, Green Dot, Human Trafficking and Shifting Boundaries in Washington and Holmes Counties, incumbent will be responsible for the creation and managing of program budget and purchasing. The incumbent of this position will implement Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT) program in schools and surrounding communities in Washington County. General activities include creation and facilitation of school presentations following state and local guidance, event planning and facilitation, participation in community events, and preparing program reports. Activities and reporting are expected to be completed in a timely manner in accordance with state deadlines and local guidance. This position is a full-time year-round staff member that requires some evenings, weekend activities, and overnight chaperone trips, working under the general supervision of the Operations & MGMT Consultant II. This is a tobacco and nicotine free position.

Independently prepares and presents STOP SV education and promoting activities in Holmes and Washington Counties in accordance with the approved Implementation Plan or as directed by the Program Office.

Maintains local county SWAT chapter as outlined in the workplan. Engages SWAT students on Washington County school campuses, supports school clubs and advisors. Prepares SWAT quarterly report, assures tobacco prevention advocates (Partnership & SWAT) receive training on effective tobacco prevention and control strategies and the program’s mission, goals, and objectives.

Completes programmatic purchasing related in accordance with state purchasing guidelines. Includes obtaining quotes, purchasing, receiving, communicating with vendors etc.

Completes monthly budget monitoring, program reports and requirements as indicated by the grant.

Administrative Duties:

•  Chaperone youth on day and overnight trips.

•  Set up for community events.

 Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication.

  • Knowledge and experience on Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook)
  • Ability to train individuals or groups of people.

  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques. 
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to training functions.
  • Ability to prepare a variety of written training materials such as lesson plans, curricula, performance evaluations or reports.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
