PUBLIC DEFENDER, 6TH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT

General Summary:

The Multimedia Specialists will support the operations of the Law Offices of Sara Mollo, Public Defender, 6th Judicial Circuit, with the attention towards achieving integrity of the criminal justice system, professionalism, and quality assurance.  

The Multimedia Specialist is a trusted and integral member of the Public Defender’s IT Department. The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong organizational skills. A Candidate should be a master multi-tasker with the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple projects with competing priorities. The Multimedia Specialist should have the ability to work independently on projects, from conception to completion, and must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities.

Core Competencies and Responsibilities: 

  • Manage multimedia discovery from clients, witnesses, state and local law enforcement agencies
  • Ensure that multimedia evidence is reviewable, playable, and presentable for the attorneys in an array of settings: Consultations, Depositions, Hearings, and Trials 
  • Assist with in-house media and presentation preparation and production 
  • Monitor and manage web content and social media
  • General knowledge of networks and operating systems 
  • Assist in maintaining computer systems and networks 
  • Assist with the set-up of workstations with computers and peripheral devices such as document scanners and printers

Knowledge and Abilities: 

  • In-depth understanding of multimedia editing and format conversion
  • In-depth understanding of Social Media, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and others
  • Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Familiarity with web-publishing and WordPress
  • Familiarity with photo and video editing applications including Final Cut Pro, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others

Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrable experience with multimedia editing and conversion
  • Demonstrable experience with web design and publication  
  • A high school diploma or its equivalent (A degree in a related field of study, or present enrollment in a degree seeking program or certificate program is preferred)
