Position Overview and Responsibilities:
Tallahassee/St. Marks Geo Parks is looking for a self-motivated, hard-working, and well-organized individual, with strong resource management, visitor services, protection, administrative and maintenance experience to fill a Resident Park Manager position. This position also supports park operations at the Tallahassee/St. Marks Geo Parks which includes: Econfina River State Park, Lake Jackson Mounds Archaeological State Park, Letchworth-Love Mounds Archaeological State Park, Natural Bridge Battlefield Historic State Park, San Marcos de Apalache Historic State Park, St. Marks River Preserve State Park, and the Tallahassee-St. Marks Historic Railroad State Trail.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Compliance with the processing requirements of Chapter 215.422 F.S. is mandatory. Persistent failure to comply with this section by any agency
of the state shall constitute good cause for discharge of employees duly found responsible, or predominantly responsible, for failure to comply.
ADMINISTRATION - Participates in employee training, supervision, and discipline. Participates in the administration of the collective
bargaining agreement and maintains good employee relations. Coordinates work schedules and assignments. Supervises the staff in
fiscal and purchasing procedures and policies for a multi-funded GEO park system and a state trail. Ensures property procedures and
policies are applied within individual park units. Checks reports, fee collection and miscellaneous records prepared by the staff of multiple
park units.
VISITOR SERVICES - Coordinates interpretive programs, activities, and schedules for multiple park units. Meets the public, interprets the
resources, facilities, and services. Resolves problems and provides good public relations.
RESOURCE MANAGEMENT - Participates in the supervision of resource management programs applicable to Park units within the
Geopark system including ecological burning, water level management, native species propagation, erosion control and exotic removal.
MAINTENANCE - Identifies maintenance needs through daily inspections. Maintains maintenance schedules and supervises the staff to
ensure maintenance on a daily, weekly, and yearly basis is regularly performed. Supervises and assists with the maintenance of buildings,
roads, bridges, trails, water systems, wastewater systems, vehicles, equipment, etc., for multiple park units.
PROTECTION - Ensures Park rules are enforced pertaining to all natural, historical, and archaeological facilities and resources and use
thereof, for the enjoyment of the visitor. The duties of this position require the incumbent to reside on the property. Opens Park gates and
entrance building. Secures buildings and gates before departing at closing time. Is responsible for cash fund security. Informs visitors of
possible hazards in unimproved areas.
OTHER-Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Completion of Ranger Academy

Position of Special Trust Requirement:
This position is designated as a Position of Special Trust in accordance with DEP Directive 422, Positions of Special Trust or Responsibility. Successful completion of background screening will be required for this position.
