JOB SUMMARY:

This position performs legal assistance support for the attorneys in child support establishment, enforcement, and modification in judicial and administrative cases and is an excellent fit for critical thinkers. If you enjoy working with court officials and problem solving, this may be the position for you. Your duties would include:

  • Maintaining case files
  • Retrieving, interpreting, and updating case data
  • Preparing a variety of legal documents
  • Scheduling, attending, and assisting in judicial and administrative proceedings
  • Initiating, receiving, and responding to varies communications
  • Developing and/or maintaining data lists and databases

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications and performing computer system updates.
  • One year of experience in: (a) providing legal assistance in an office or court environment, (b) reviewing and processing legal documents and/or correspondence, and (c) communicating with case parties, court officials, clerks of court, opposing attorneys, etc.*

SUBSTITUTIONS:

  • *Relevant education may substitute for the required experience for example: Vocational/technical training in Paralegal/Legal studies

PREFERENCES:

  • Preference will be given to applicants with Legal Assistant/Paralegal experience in Family Law/Child Support.

SPECIAL NOTES:

  • This position is in Crestview.
  • This position has a standard workday of 8am – 5pm, Monday through Friday.
  • This position may require you to work outside your regular work schedule, should there be a business need to do so.

SALARY: $38,942.76- $46,553.76.
