ADVERTISING TITLE: STORES CONSULTANT (WAREHOUSE)
This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Cross City Correctional Institution in the Warehouse department.
Our mission in the Warehouse is to efficiently manage the storage and distribution of supplies, as well as handle all incoming and outgoing mail for the correctional facilities. We aim to ensure that all operations run smoothly, supporting the overall functioning of the institution and meeting the needs of both staff and inmates.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
- This is a support position assigned to Institutional Support and reports directly to the Operations and Consultants Manager. The incumbent will be providing administrative and logistical support to the Edible Crops Program, Surplus Property, Recycling and institutions. Checks and balances needed to ensure that the assets of the Department are protected and all legislative requirements
are met.
- The delivery of commodities distributed from statewide famis and institutions to various locations throughout the State through the use of departmental vehicles and/or common carrier. Delivery and/or pick up of items such as equipment and/or emergency supplies, within the State may be necessary, which may require overnight travel.
- Oversee and maintain the daily operation, where applicable, of the mail room, institutional canteens, inmate discharge function and cash receipts, payroll distribution, institution resource room and laundry operations. This includes, but is not limited to, the receipt, storage and distribution of commodities from the CDW and vendors; receipt, inspection and distribution of all mail for the institution as outlined by procedure. - Responds to inmate requests and grievances as applicable. Oversees monthly free letter request process, and generates and distributes monthly inmate bank statements.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
