OPS (Temporary) MAINTENANCE REPAIRMAN

Hourly Rate: $15.38

Shift: 8:00am – 4:30pm

Other OPS Maintenance Repairman positions (shifts) may be filled from this advertisement within six (6) months of the closing date.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Basic computer skills are required.
• Must be willing and able to work a schedule that is inclusive of weekends and holidays.
• Able to lift 75 - 100 pounds without assistance.
• One (1) year of experience in the maintenance and repair of buildings, electrical, plumbing or mechanical equipment.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
• Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings
• Valid Driver License.
• Successful completion of the due diligence process, to include but not limited to, a Level II Background check and drug screen.

Note: you will be required to provide your Social Security number in order to conduct the Level 2 background screening.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS/EXPECTATION:

• The selected candidate will work under the supervision of the Utilities and Maintenance Superintendent.
  • The duties and responsibilities include repair and maintenance of the physical plant, property, equipment and mechanical systems of the State Veterans’ Home.
  • The Maintenance Repairman will assist to ensure a safe environment exists in compliance with all Federal, State, and Local requirements.
• Performs routine preventative maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently and the physical condition of the buildings do not deteriorate.
• Provides routine repair services to defective equipment, repairs physical plant deficiencies, resolves routine work orders, assists with the assembly, delivery and installation of facility equipment.
• Documents actions and outcomes of preventative maintenance efforts, repair services and other routine actions to assist the Maintenance Superintendent in maintenance of a concise record of services rendered.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment, assists the Maintenance Superintendent with maintaining a focus of safety and accident prevention throughout the facility.
