This is an OPS (Other Personal Services) positions and as such no paid time off is offered. Health benefits will be offered for full-time employment.  OPS employees are eligible to participate in a deferred compensation plan.

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Contact Monitoring:

                Contact monitoring staff get in touch with positive clients and their contacts several times at the beginning of their monitoring and then again at the end of the self-isolation period.  This is done by either phone calls or using the TIM2 system. Attempts to follow up should be documented in Merlin.  Close contacts that develop symptoms should be instructed how to get tested and to seek Medical Care.  Have a nurse speak with the contact if you feel they are quite ill such as sound short of breath, say they feel extremely bad, seem confused or any other concern.

                For contacts who end up testing positive, staff will confirm the test results and

•             If positive, refer them automatically to the case Investigator

•             If negative, symptomatic contacts will continue to self-quarantine until the end of the isolation period.

Contact monitoring/ Call center staff will take phone calls received into the CHD related to Covid-19.  They shall utilize CDC and guidelines provided by the CHD and relay the information the appropriate staff if they are not certain of the correct response. Phone calls should be documented, professional tone and welcoming demeanor shall be displayed on all calls.

                May also assist with clerical duties

•An understanding of patient confidentiality, including the ability to conduct interviews without violating confidentiality (e.g., to those who might overhear their conversations).

•Understanding of the medical terms and principles of exposure, infection, infectious period, potentially infectious interactions, symptoms of disease, pre-symptomatic and asymptomatic infection.

Excellent and sensitive interpersonal, cultural sensitivity, and interviewing skills such that they can build and maintain trust with patients and contacts.

•Basic skills of crisis counseling, and the ability to confidently refer patients and contacts for further care if needed.

•Resourcefulness in locating patients and contacts who may be difficult to reach or reluctant to engage in conversation.

•Understanding of when to refer individuals or situations to medical, social, or supervisory resources.

•Cultural competency appropriate to the local community.

Ability to explain Covid-19, principles of exposure, infection, infectious period, high risk interactions, symptoms of the disease and prevention and control interventions.

Tactful, interpersonal skills and interviewing skills.

Communicating with clients who may be difficult to reach or reluctant to engage in conversation.

Aware of cultures and sensitivities.

Understanding when to refer an individual to medical, social or supervisory resources.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Must have data entry experience

Must have multi-line telephone experience.

Must have experience with electronic medical records

Ability to work varied hours including nights and weekends according to agency needs.
