The ideal candidate would be someone passionate about environmental health causes and public relations professional skills. The position is based in Daytona Beach, Florida. Most of your daily time will be spent in the office communicating with clients, answering questions,  processing payments , assisting the Environmental health team and special projects. This is a part time seasonal position.

 

Volusia County is home to over 47 miles of beaches, including the world-famous Daytona Beach, and is one of the fastest growing counties within central Florida. Our offices are surrounded by over 52 miles of paved bicycling trails, over 50 miles of kayaking trails, and two first-magnitude springs, three universities, theatres, museums and a multitude of other cultural opportunities.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

Knowledge of environmental Health Programs and associated regulations

Knowledge of rules and regulations associated with community sharps collection programs

Skilled in procedures and systems such as word processing, file management and record retention and other office procedures and terminology.

Skilled in policies and procedures pertinent to deposits, data processing/confidentiality and biomedical waste laws.

 

Qualifications:

 

Minimum -

Must have knowledge of environmental Health Programs and associated regulations

Must have knowledge of rules and regulations associated with community sharps collection programs

Must be skilled in procedures and systems such as word processing, file management and record retention and other office procedures and terminology.

Must be skilled in policies and procedures pertinent to deposits, data processing/confidentiality and biomedical waste laws.

Must be able to operate an computer, use Microsoft Office programs to generate a variety of standard documents such as for correspondence, memos, aganda, minutes, charts, permits, legal notices  and reports

Must be able to enter computer data with minimal errors

Must have experience in billing processing including preparing invoices/correspondence for delivery, processing payments , answer customer billing questions and conduct follow-up calls

Must be able to use scanning software and perform quality assurance with minimal errors

Must be able to sit up to 4 hours at a time, lift 25 pounds, stretch, bend, and kneel

 

Preferred -

Establish and maintain ongoing, constructive and cooperative interpersonal relationships with management and staff

Ability to use the Environmental Health Data base, Application Extender, Quillix, Microsoft Office Suite programs to complete assigned tasks.

Ability to plan, organize daily activities in a time-efficient and effective manner with minimal assistance 

Principles and processes for providing good customer service and how to evaluate for customer satisfaction.

Calculate and verify the accuracy of financial or transactional data
