 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Be a licensed, certified nursing assistant in Florida.
  • Must be able to lead therapeutic recreation programs, complete and record attendance, and all other records pertaining to activities and have excellent time management skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Needs excellent communication and public relations skills.
  • Must have competent computer skills.
  • Willing and able to work weekends and holidays
  • Successful completion of all pre-employment screenings

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Clean driving record.
  • Current CPR certification

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • Provides direct care as needed for residents’ well-being and/or to promote activity participation, i.e. transfer, feed, toilet, lift 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Leads therapeutic recreation programs as designed and scheduled by Activity Director.
  • Provides recreation, as assigned, in the mornings, afternoons, evenings, and on weekends in the areas of (but not limited to) exercise, art, music, sports, social, cognitive, sensory and entertaining.
  • Provides individual activities to room-bound residents as assigned.
  • Sorts and delivers residents’ mail in a timely manner.
  • Operates facility vehicles to include vehicle with handicap equipment and all tasks related to transport, i.e. bending and securing devices.
  • Transports and escorts residents to outside activities. Transfer residents as required. Assist residents with selections and purchases on shopping outings.
  • Assist Activity Coordinator with certain programs by co-Leading or co-designing programs. Invite and assist residents to and from activity groups.
  • Assist Activity Director with state and federally required documentation as needed, as well as with certain programs by co-leading or co-designing programs. Makes sure residents are aware and brought to various activity programs.
  • Complete 1:1 log sheets and attendance records accurately and in a timely manner. Assists in preparing monthly calendar and newsletter as needed.
  • Provide care for facility animals as part of pet therapy program as assigned.
  • Participate in all activity training and follow directives in regards to program goals. Provide input to Activity director to assist in the development of programming.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to include bending, sitting, standing for extended periods of time in the performance of activity related tasks, i.e. Decorating, cleaning up, transporting wheelchairs, clerical work, etc.
