Starting Annual Salary: $33,760.00

Paid Bi-weekly

Shift: 8:00am – 4:30pm

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be willing and able to assist with filing and maintaining hard copy records.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, in person and over the telephone.
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to operate a multi-line telephone system.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to prepare letters, reports, forms and other documents.
  • Must Successfully complete all pre-employment screenings to include, but not limited to a drug test and finger printing.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Two years' secretarial or clerical experience.
  • Knowledge of HIPPA regulations.
  • Experience filing and maintaining records.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • Candidate is responsible for receiving and managing phone calls to the facility appropriately while providing courteous and prompt customer service to all visitors and residents.
  • Maintain order in the reception area and notifies facility staff of visitors as appropriate:
    • provides magazines and other reading material to visitors as well as residents.
    • Ensure adequate lighting and comfortable room temperatures are maintained within the reception area.
  • Candidate greets visitors to the facility in a prompt, courteous manner. 
  • Provides limited information to the general public regarding services rendered at the State Veterans' Nursing Home. 
  • Answers and routes incoming and in-house calls. Takes and delivers accurate messages to appropriate staff members in a timely fashion. 
  • Ensures at all times Residents Rights as well as Resident confidentially is protected.
  • Maintains Administrative area for supplies, confidential resident and employee documents, including mail.
  • Locks and secures area at end of shift.
  • Maintains logs of visitors, vendors and residents families. 
  • Assist Business Manager with residents’ monthly accounts. 
  • Compiles a spreadsheet of expenditures and checks for the business office.
  • Handles cash account, assists residents with letters and postage as needed.
  • Prepare letters, reports, forms and other documents, assuring that they are accurate and timely.
  • Performs other routine office duties as instructed by supervisor. 
  • Notifies FDVA in Largo, NHA and DON immediately of any regulatory visitors.
