OVERVIEW:
This is advanced professional work supervising and directing MDT employees in the Northwest Region. The primary duty of the incumbent in this position is to spend the majority of their time communicating with, motivating, training and evaluating employees, planning and directing their work; and having the authority to effectivelyrecommend actions such as: hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, promote, discharge, assign, and reward or discipline direct reports. Evaluates employees against established standards and take appropriate actions when necessary(i.e., recognition, reward, corrective action, etc.). The selected individual must reside in any of the 16 counties.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:
Working knowledge of federal, state, and laws regarding child welfare. Working knowledge of pertinent administrative codes, policies, and operating procedures. Working knowledge of the multiple program components within the field of child welfare. Knowledge and skills with Florida Safe Families Network (FSFN), Excel, MicrosoftWord, email, general internet providers, and other related computer systems.
Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis. Knowledge of basic management principles and practices. Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow and other activities relating to the improvement of operations and management practices. Ability to organize data into a logical format for presentation in reports, documents, and other written materials. Ability to conduct fact finding research. Ability to utilize problem solving techniques. Ability to work independently. Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to operational and management analysis activities. Ability to plan organize and coordinate work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
 JOB DUTIES:
Ensures the coordination and facilitation of SB 80, Multi Disciplinary and Institutional staffings.
Ensures diligent efforts and advanced searches are being made.
Monitoring and ensuring accomplishment of programmatic and managerial goals and objectives.
Assists with implementing strategies to enhance and increase field performance.
Conducting special quality assurance reviews
Handling of investigations of special incidents and/or complaints regarding Department programs.
Attending and participating in community projects/meetings.
Establishing and maintaining an effective working relationship with governmental officials and community service organizations in the service area.
Ensures staff maintain an organized tracking system to account for multidisciplinary staffings.
Aids the Program Administrators and their staff in the management and operation of Child Protection through the evaluation and observations of the MDT Coordinators
Ability to coordinate and facilitate multidisciplinary staffings in person or remotely.
Ability to use conflict resolution and collaborative problem solving.
Participates in any related staffings to influence group decision making.
