Your Specific Responsibilities:

 This position provides manual housekeeping and custodial duties and is responsible for the cleanliness, outside upkeep, and minor maintenance of the Florida Department of Health Walton County Health Department.  This position is identified as sensitive and requires background screening including finger printing and will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor II.  Adheres to Information Security policies and procedures and key custodian for designated areas.

 This position is identified as a highly sensitive position and is responsible for receiving money and performing tasks involving financial trust.

 

Vacuum carpet floors, sweep and mop floors. Spot clean or shampoo carpet as needed.  Clean up after accidents, spills, or sickness as needed.  Clean lavatories, commodes, mirrors of bathrooms, glass doors, and drinking fountains regularly.  Keep dispensers filed with paper towels, and toilet paper in dispensers. Perform deep cleaning in clinics as scheduled. Wash windows and doors, clean and dust ledges, windowsills, blinds, and furniture.  Empty trash baskets in offices and clinics regularly and dispose of waste in an acceptable manner.  Replace light bulbs, attend to minor repairs, report any damages or conditions needing professional attention, run errands, move furniture, and flag duty.  Assist in inventory and assure an adequate supply of cleaning supplies, toilet paper, paper towels, and other supplies are ordered and maintained.  When supplies are delivered, sort and store in an orderly manner and document deliveries to assigned purchasing agent.  Assist all staff as requested.  Prepare conference room for meetings and training.

 

 Assist with the professional appearance of all the Walton County Health Department sites.  Keep cans, bottles, and broken glass, and other garbage picked up from the parking lots.  Blow off sidewalks and entrance areas as needed.  Monitor facilities on the outside and inside for safety issues. Conducts safety inspection as requested and monthly fire extinguisher inspections for assigned facilities.

Assist in other areas and perform other duties as requested. Participates in department and staff meetings, represent the agency in a professional manner.

 

Completes time entry and EAR entry within required time frame. Performs active duty during disaster as required, may be indeterminate periods of time.

 

 May be required to travel to provide support at satellite clinics. Required to work evenings and weekend shifts as needed to support clinic operations. Actively participates in Departmental and CHD Staff Meetings.

 

  Incumbent may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency.  Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs or Red Cross shelters, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.
