This position will Evaluate project/process to determine current performance status. Support consultant contracts in accordance with applicable rules, laws, and procedures. Provide materials related technical support to customers as requested.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Evaluate project/process to determine current performance status. Make/recommend improvements to optimize delivery or improve results. Notify stakeholders of any changes to the project/process. Ensure project/process is consistent, predictable, and repeatable.

Support consultant contracts in accordance with applicable rules, laws, and procedures. Review the consultant work effort. Review and comment on invoices.

Perform analysis of in-place conditions. Determine the cause(s) of the in-place conditions. Propose solutions if necessary or requested by the customer.

Perform analysis required to determine the best approach foundation installation technique and parameters. Perform analysis required to determine if the installed foundation meets the design requirements. Design foundations and other geotechnical solutions to support Department infrastructure.

Analyze materials data for contract and procedural compliance. Take timely action to correct any errors in the data. Actively facilitate the notification of stakeholders of errors, failures, or negative trends.

Provide materials related technical support to customers as requested. Provide support in time to meet the customers’ needs. Provide guidance and training to customers.

Review Quality Control plans, Construction plans, Specifications, procedures, and any other documents necessary to execute the Department’s mission. Provide clear comments as requested in time to be useful to the customer. Offer solutions when objecting to the approach that is proposed.

The Successful Candidate will have the following required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

• The concepts, terminology, principles and analytical techniques of geotechnical engineering; engineering design, construction, production and/or operations.

Skills in:

• Using engineering tools, equipment and/or instruments.

Ability to:

• Operate a personal computer for work processing, spreadsheets, and database application; analyze and interpret engineering data; solve problems relating to engineering’; perform engineering inspections; apply engineering quantitative techniques; plan, organize and coordinate work assignments; communicate engineering information effectively; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; pick up to 50 pounds and move around uneven terrain without assistance.

Other Job-Related Requirements:

• Due to the nature of this position, the incumbent must respond to emergencies. Must possess or obtain and maintain Pile Driving Inspector Construction Training Qualification Program (CTQP) and Drilled Saft Inspector Construction Training Qualification Program (CTQP). Must pass of have passed Construction Math and Contracts plans Reading Self Study examinations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent. Prior experience using engineering or manufacturing tools, equipment and/or instruments; and prior experience operating a personal computer for work processing, spreadsheet, and/or database applications.
