This open competitive advertisement is for a SES (Selected Exempt Service) position located at South Florida Reception Center in the Classification Department.

This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
- Supervises and manages employees by communicating, motivating, training, evaluating, and directing their work, with authority to make or recommend decisions on hiring, promotions, discipline, and other personnel actions.
- Oversees the management of inmate records, data entry, and information processing, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and compliance through audits and continuous monitoring.
- Maintains expertise in case law and legal terminology related to sentencing, analyzing and updating data and documents to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Supervises staff involved in inmate receiving, processing, and release procedures, ensuring accurate data entry, addressing discrepancies, and improving productivity through revised procedures and cross-training.
- Responds to inquiries from law enforcement, inmates, and the public regarding sentencing and release, investigates complaints, and ensures proper resolution while attending required training sessions.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in classification.
