Correctional Sentence Technician – F/C – 70023383

 

This advertisement is for a Career Service position located at South Florida Reception Center in the Classification Department.

 

Salary: $37,117.08 annually

 

SALARY WILL BE APPLIED IN ACCORDANCE WITH PAY POLICY. THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE APPOINTED AT THE ABOVE LISTED APPOINTMENT RATE.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receives and audits commitment documents from the reception centers and determines legality of sentence.
  • Communicates with clerks of circuity courts, state attorneys, and other criminal justice officials as needed to clarify sentencing provisions and insure accurate interpretation of judge's instructions.
  • Checks commitment documents for applicability of new legislation on sentence structure and adjusts coded data as ncessary.
  • Notifies other offices when information pertaining to escapees, youthful offenders,detainees, or countv iail sentences may have impact in those sections.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Six months of data entry operations experience; or completion of a training program in data entry; or one year of clerical experience Preference will be given to applicants with a high school diploma, work experience in a law enforcement or correctional setting and clerical experience.
