WORKING TITLE: GENERAL SERVICES SPECIALIST
This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at South Florida Reception Center in the Office of Administration’s Fleet Maintenance department and reports to Central Office in Tallahassee, FL.
The mission of the Office of Administration’s Fleet Maintenance in the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the Department's vehicle fleet.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
- Fleet Management Accuracy: Ensure all vehicle logs and work order information are accurately entered and current in the fleet management system.
- P-Card Transactions: Process, monitor, and review P-card transactions for vehicle-related repairs, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Report Preparation: Review, analyze, and prepare reports from the Department of Management Services fleet management platform, pulling reports for management as needed.
- Maintenance and Repairs: Monitor vehicle repairs and preventative maintenance costs, ensuring accurate entries in the Department’s Fleet database, and manage toll violations and transponders.
- Fuel Card and Records Management: Manage the Regional fuel card program, perform monthly inventory, ensure accurate vehicle records, handle vehicle surplus and disposal, and create purchase requests in Ariba on Demand.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Must possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of professional or nonprofessional experience in business administration, purchasing, supply inventory, property management, financial accounting. Experience as above can substitute on a year for year basis for the required college education.
- At least one year of experience in financial accounting as documented on your state application.
- Experience working in an office environment.
- Experience using Ariba on Demand and/or MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP) as documented on your state application.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet search and research as documented on your state application.
Support of knowledge, skills, and abilities should be demonstrated on the application, in the education, in the work experience, in the work sample, in the interview and/or during reference checks.
