Your Specific Responsibilities:

This is a supervised position consisting of expanded dental assistant functions working for the school sealant program to provide school sealant program dentistry services Lake County Public School locations in addition to other agencies that request mobile dental services.  This is a floating meaning that location assignment will change frequently.  Dental assistants are responsible for making patients comfortable, preparing and educating patients on treatment, obtaining dental records and performing a variety of patient care and office duties.  


Assists dental hygienists with scheduling schools, preparing paperwork to send to the schools for parental permission for students to participate in the program.  Verifying student insurance eligibility, preparing trays of instruments for different procedures.  Pass instruments as needed for each specific procedure as required by the hygienist.  Enter client information into Dental Management Software as required.  Greet and seat clients during the initial part of the visit.  Escort clients to exit area at the end of visit.  Clean operatory and prepare for next client.  Restock and maintain supplies for mobile dental clinic.


Participates in outreach events and functions.


Create, maintain and document in client’s dental records per policy and procedure.  Process billing for all client’s seen in the school sealant program.  Order supplies as needed.


Attend staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.


Performs other duties as assigned.



Minimum –

  • Willing to work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. This may include working in a special needs or Red Cross shelter, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural
  • Have a current valid driver’s license or State ID. If out of state a Florida driver's license or State ID will be required within 30 days of hire
  • Expanded Duties Dental Assistant Certification


Preferred –

  • Dental Assistant experience
  • Eaglesoft Software experience
  • Knowledge of dental billing practices
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
