Position Overview and Responsibilities:

Gamble Rogers State Park is looking to fill an OPS toll collector position working up to 40 hours per week.  The incumbent in this position works weekends, evenings and holidays.

 

The primary function of this position is to provide excellent customer service as the first point of contact on entering Gamble Rogers Memorial SRA. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for greeting visitors at the Park entrance and providing information pertaining to the park and surrounding areas. Inform visitors of the park features as well as any current and upcoming park activities and events. Collect fees for park entrance and annual permits. Operate a point-of-sale cash register; accurately collect, record and reconcile revenue collected. Effectively operate the Reserve America computer program to process camping reservations.

 

Maintain an organized workspace in a high capacity camping park, maintaining a 95% occupancy rate year-round.

 

Answer phones and operate two-way radio communication system. Assist with completing various reports.

 

Light cleaning of the inside of the ranger station, including the staff restroom.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

KNOWLEDGE OF: Basic Arithmetic

SKILL IN: Providing outstanding customer service, basic computer skills 

ABILITY TO: Follow verbal and written instructions; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; accurately prepare and reconcile reports; collect fees; operate cash registers, point-of-sale systems, and credit card terminals; answer visitor inquiries in a courteous manner. Successfully complete background and fingerprint check. Understand and apply rules, directives, policies, laws and regulations, work weekends, evenings, and holidays.

 

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Experience in operating advanced point-of-sale system 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver’s license.  
  • Successful completion of background check

 

Position of Special Trust Requirement:

This position is designated as a Position of Special Trust in accordance with DEP Directive 422, Positions of Special Trust or Responsibility. Successful completion of background screening will be required for this position.

 

Pay:

$15 per hour
