WORKING TITLE: Contract Field Monitoring

This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located within regions 3 and 4. Specifically, Central and South Florida counties with include Hernando, Pasco, Polk, Hardee, Desoto, Okeechobee, Palm Beach and Martin.

The mission of the Office of Administration at the Florida Department of Corrections is to provide efficient and effective administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the department. This includes managing financial resources, human resources, procurement, and other essential administrative functions. The office aims to enhance organizational performance, ensure compliance with policies and regulations, and support the overall mission of the department in maintaining public safety and promoting successful offender rehabilitation. 

This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

JOB DUTIES:

• Act as a field representative for the Bureau of Contract Management and Monitoring, reporting to the Operations and Management Consultant Manager for Regions 3 and 4.
• Travel to various locations to conduct contract monitoring, on-site analysis, and inspections of operations and management issues.
• Ensure institutional food service compliance in areas like accounting, purchasing, inventory, staffing, menu adherence, sanitation, food preparation, and services.
• Help facility administration staff correct food, health, or safety violations and set up procedures to prevent them from happening again. Communicate maintenance and repair needs for food equipment and assist with major renovations and new construction.
• Prepare and submit timely monitoring reports, support staff with contractor performance issues, conduct operational reviews and mock ACA audits, develop and revise monitoring tools, investigate inmate grievances, monitor substance use disorder contracts, and assist with regional data reporting as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Five (5) years of food service, contract monitoring experience and/or substance abuse program experience. Postsecondary education may substitute on a year for year basis for the required experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
