Your Specific Responsibilities: 

  • This is an administrative support position requiring independent work assisting the CareerSource Center staff with a variety of administrative matters. 
  • Works on projects as assigned to prepare reports for use by the CareerSource management staff in evaluating operations and for related decision making.  Gathers data and prepares drafts of reports or responses for management approval.  Processes routine correspondence and prepares replies.
  • Uses personal computer with various software applications to prepare reports and correspondence.  Receives electronic mail messages and transmits to appropriate associates and partners.
  • Performs routine fiscal, personnel and other major office functions including establishment and maintenance of files and coordination of maintenance/service agreements for office support equipment.
  • Coordinates travel conducted by staff to ensure compliance with established procedures and prepares expense reimbursement vouchers.
  • Performs special work assignments that require independent work as directed by supervisor.

  • Computer skills, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers, staff, and partner agencies in person, by phone, in writing, and by electronic communication.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment with sensitive information.
  • Ability to provide clerical support including filing, copying, scanning, data entry, and document preparation.
  • Skill in using standard office equipment and common software such as word processing, spreadsheets, email, and calendars.
  • Ability to prepare correspondence, reports, forms, and other office documents.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to order, receive, and track office supplies and routine materials as needed.

 

Qualifications:

As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records. 

 

Minimum:

  • Requires 2 years of administrative experience and computer skills or similar experience  
  • Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and basic administrative functions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment and handle routine public contact professionally.
  • Duties and responsibilities of this position must be performed at the official work site of the Department.
  • Travel may be required.

Preferred:

  • Two or more years of progressively responsible administrative or clerical experience.
  • Associate degree or coursework in business administration, office administration, public administration, or a related field.

Pay: 

$ $36,000/Annually

The Work You Will Do:

This position performs professional and administrative work in a workforce career center setting, providing services to job-seekers and/or employers. This position specializes in providing individual or group vocational or employment counseling services in a One-Stop Center responsible for providing individualized or group specialized counseling services to targeted/contracted groups (e.g., dislocated workers, veterans, welfare transition participants, etc.) using standardized counseling techniques which will assist customers in deciding on vocational goals and employability plans for entrance into employment.
