This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Community Corrections Region IV Circuit 170 Broward in the Regional Office.

This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
- Meets with offenders to find employment opportunities and resources, provides life skills and interviewing classes, and works with community stakeholders to develop employment partnerships.
- Coordinates and facilitates job readiness classes at the local probation office, including job application and interviewing skills training.
- Responsible to the Circuit Administrator/designee, meets with offenders to assist in obtaining employment, schedules regular follow-ups, and provides ongoing support.
- Develops partnerships with the Department of Economic Opportunity and local educational/vocational schools to provide services, employment assessments, and necessary education or vocational skills.
- Establishes community relationships to educate employers about tax credits for hiring convicted felons, develops a bank of employers/jobs, coordinates job fairs, and organizes volunteer/community service work for offenders.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Must possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with 4 years of professional or nonprofessional experience in job placement, parole, probation, sworn law enforcement, public investigations, clemency, victim services work, or corrections work; OR any combination of education and work experience as described above, for a total of 4 years.
Support of knowledge, skills, and abilities should be demonstrated on the application, in the education, in the work experience, in the work sample, in the interview and/or during reference checks.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.
