POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides direct supervision of PrEP/nPEP Representatives who are members of the PrEP Program under the Division of Communicable Disease of the Florida Department of Health in Broward County both at DOH and at the Broward Wellness Center. Incumbent assigns work to employees and delegate’s routine responsibilities. Schedules routine and emergency coverage for team members and other staff. Provides initial orientation, ongoing training and professional development for new and experienced employees. Coordinates and supervises outreach, detailing, and clinical activities.
This position spends the majority of the time engaged in supervisory responsibilities. This includes communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees in addition to planning and directing employees' work. The incumbent has the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline subordinate employees or effectively recommend such action. The incumbent will also be required to develop performance expectations, meet with staff regularly to discuss performance, complete performance reviews, maintain vacation and work schedules, ensuring proper coverage, and complete timesheets.
Ensures staff understands, implements and operates under the established departmental policies and procedures; and Florida Statues and administrative codes. Monitors employees work product and performance through observational interviews, counseling sessions and field visits. Utilizes assigned internal and external systems, along with the STARS database; to review employees case status, workload, and produce other quantitative and qualitative assurance reports. Reviews employee’s cases, field records, and other program documents to ensure completeness, accuracy and timeliness of case management. Reviews and analyzes monthly statistical outcomes with each member of the team. Ensures staff understands, implements and operates under the established departmental policies and procedures; and Florida Statues and administrative codes. Monitor and evaluate employee performance; and provide recommendations for best practices and areas of improvement. Provides prompt oral and written feedback detailing strengths and areas of improvement to the employee. Provides program and staff performance updates to the Senior Human Services Program Manager overseeing the PrEP/nPEP Program. Performs mid and/or end of the year employee evaluations by established due dates.
Ensures employees receive required/core and on the job training relative to their official position and other assigned duties. Identify and requests required and enhanced training that will contribute to employee’s knowledge and skill level in the areas of case management, including data entry, and the entire disease intervention process.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Willing to work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. This may include working in a special needs or Red Cross shelter, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.
- Current employee of Florida Department of Health. Applicants accepted only from Department of Health employees, (includes OPS, Career Service, SES or SMS employees). Applicants will not be accepted from outside of the department.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive a county vehicle /recreational vehicle.
- Knowledge of HIV/AIDS and STI prevention.
- Expertise in PrEP/PEP and other emerging HIV biomedical prevention options.
- Experience working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and other internal and external systems and databases.
- Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports (written or oral), documents and other written material.
- Available to work nights and weekends as required by program needs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in working in the HIV/AIDS prevention field.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing PrEP Linkage and Navigation Services, including linkage to financial assistance programs.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience utilizing Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and other internal and external systems and databases.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience participating in community engagement activities (outreach, tabling, etc.) to increase community awareness and uptake of PrEP and PEP.
